Raw Vegan Recipe: Vivacious Princess! (raw vegan smoothie)

Recipe time! Sun Warrior was kind enough to send me bag of their (plain) natural flavored raw, sprouted, non-gmo protein powder to sample. Here is a great recipe I whipped up with it. I was going to take the picture of it in a glass mason jar when I remembered that I had this adorable margarita "princess" glass I received as a gift years ago - I was waiting for the perfect drink to go into it. After I named this Vivacious Princess because of the pretty pink color and how it'll make you feel after drinking it: attractive, lively and femininely spirited... I thought, "Wait! I have the perfect glass!"

I'm totally ready to take on the day after drinking this delicious concoction (after I put on my lip gloss, of course... sparkly princess after all).

Vivacious Princess
Yield 3 cups

1 cup water
1 heaping cup frozen cherries
2 frozen bananas, chopped
1 heaping scoop Natural (plain) Sun Warrior protein powder
1 tablespoon raw cashew butter
1 tablespoon flax meal
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
splash almond extract

Blend everything until smooth and creamy. Enjoy!

  10. this drink looks really thick and good..:) i read your eating raw/organic on the cheap post and i think its great. But you use so many different ingredients i would think it would get expensive. I'm a student and I'd like to eat more raw, but i was wondering, how expensive it is for 2 people to eat raw (i live in california too and will live in Laguna Beach in a little). About how much would 2 girls spend in a month on raw vegan food?

  13. Hi Kristen!

I love your blog. I'm trying to follow your example and incorporate more raw/vegan elements into my life. I was wondering if you could suggest two or three basic, versatile things to purchase to start making dressings/dips/smoothies. (goji berries, protein powder, chocolate powder, chia seeds?

    what do you think?

  14. Cashews and hemp seeds (shakes, dips), chocolate powder (shakes), protein powder if you want more protein (shakes), apple cider vinegar (dressing).

  15. Hi sweetie. I finally got around to listening to your Raw Mom phone call. I can't believe how close it is getting. I wish you the best.

I also just had my first taste of Sun Warrior protein recently, as my hubby got me a bag for my birthday. I think I prefer the hemp, but this one seems to be balancing out my hormones (I've heard a lot about it doing this) while still breastfeeding. Maca has also helped.

Love the name of the smoothie and the glass. All beverages and meals seem so much more special when you doll up the presentation like that :-)
