you did awesome all RAW!!!!!!!!!! So I need to look into this Kaia Foods! And I've been wanting to make my own Rejuvenate :) I bet it was great and very energizing :))
ReplyDeleteI have GOT to make your Cherry Chocolate Bomb Shake!!!!! Sounds rediculous!!!!!!
Love you sweet girl!!
well i know whose blog i'm headed to if/when i'm pregnant!=)
ReplyDeletehooray for you taking such amazing care of yourself and your baby! do you ever get weird cravings for the "bad" stuff?
Hi Malynda,
ReplyDeleteIt's been an amazing day of food. One thing I love about Raw is that if I'm hungry... I just EAT! Yum!!!
Hi Kelli,
Thanks :)
Bad stuff? Depends on what you mean. Sometimes a donut looks good - lol - but I always pass on it. I've had chocolate a few (many) times so that's been a small addiction. Most times it was Raw, vegan, and organic. But, sometimes it was just dark, vegan, organic.
Other than that... what's important to me is just being able to eat when I'm hungry. I've done days with some cooked foods like toast with raw pecan or almond butter - yum! Those kinds of comfort foods are always tasty. :) I've also had a Chipotle vegan burrito from time to time. Again though, that's not really "bad"... yet, I consider it on the "more bad" scale of things since I normally eat all organic and super high raw, if not all raw. :)
EXACTLY Kristen!!! Just EAT!!! Lol! I love it!
ReplyDeleteKristen, What's in the herbal pregnancy tea? I LOVE home birth and midwives, as you know, but I like to know what's in those herb teas. I don't agree that ALL pregnancy teas are good.
ReplyDeletei tried those kaia fruit leathers. they are really good. i also love the ginger snaps. isn't it nice to have some prepared raw snacks to give yourself a break sometimes?
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing!
Hi Denise,
ReplyDeleteI trust my midwife. I went through a pretty thorough research process in finding her and making sure she was a good fit for me, including expertise in herbs and nutrition. I learned my lesson after having thought I found a good fit with the first one I chose.
She only just let me have red raspberry leaf. ;)
I had a raw vegan lunch today in your honour! http://www.gorillafood.com/
ReplyDeleteI really want to try your shake recipe - where on earth do you find frozen cherries? I've searched all our local health food/whole foods and still can't find them. It's killing me! lol Seeing you and Gina post about the shake and not being able to make it!
Do you also have a favourite recipe for green juice? I've just started getting into them, but have only been buying them at juice bars. I'd like to try some at home!
Looking forward to eating 100% Raw with you again today little miss sunshine!!! Love you!!
ReplyDeletecherry chocolate bomb is amazing!!!!
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!!!!
thanks for sharing the recipe!!!
Delicious day, everything sounds so good. I have to ask.... is your lick smacking awesome salad dressing featured in any of your books? I'm on the hunt for good salad dressing recipes, I've been in a rut.
ReplyDeleteI am going to be taking all your yummy meal ideas and using them when I am pregnant! :) You have the best food ever! :)
ReplyDeleteI just made the Cherry-Chocolate Bomb two days ago and LOVED it! :) Cannot believe it is so raw and there are no added sweeteners! Thanks for a bomb-a-licious recipe and it's inspiring to see you going through your pregnancy in such a natural way.
ReplyDeleteNamaste,
Ashley
I enjoy Red Rasberry Leaf myself. There is just a lot of other herbal teas that pregnant women trust "just because they are herbal." Thanks for clarifiying.
ReplyDeleteOh, BTW, I dried tomatoes in my excalibur. Yum! No need for me to ever buy store bought sun dried. The organic sun dried doesn't taste good and the conventional has perservatives or has too much oil. Honestly, I didn't like sun dried much until I tried my own!
You're such an inspiration to me Kristen! Btw loved your tuscan pesto - I made it for rawvioli and then had leftovers in a stuffed pepper! Delish! Thanks for writing your daily food intake down. I need to get better at that.
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki,
ReplyDeleteIt's going to be featured in my upcoming book. Have you tried the Cayenne Tahini Dressing from my salad book and latest newsletter? Or the Sweet Capri Dressing from my salad book?
Cheers,
Kristen
PS and sometimes I just love raw olive oil, coconut vinegar (or lemon juice), Himalayan crystal salt, and pepper. :)
Hi Salamander,
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed you can't find frozen cherries anywhere. Ugh!
I get them (organic) at Whole Foods market. I can't wait for you to score some and make the shake. :)
Green Juices, I sometimes post what I'm putting in them on my blog. If you're into lightly green, then try:
1-2 cucumbers
1/3-1/2 bunch celery
1/2 bunch of kale
1/2 lemon or lime
If you want it a tad sweet, do the same as above but add an apple, pear, orange, or 1-2 carrots.
Happy Juicing!
Kristen
Sounds like a totally delicious (and healthy) day! I have had a Cherry Chocolate Bomb Shake every day since trying it last week... It's getting ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kristen! I might actually go to WF and ask them if they can get them. Sometimes it's a Canada thing. ;) You'd think we could get anything frozen up here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the juice recommendations! I added lemon to a green juice at Gorilla yesterday and it really kicked it up a notch! I think I'll give that a shot at home. I think I've staved off a cold that was knocking on my door for a few days, by drinking tons of juice this past weekend.
I must get my hands on some hemp protein and try that shake!
ReplyDeleteIncredible and balanced nutrition as always! I must try that shake, and soon :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to try a cucumber, celery, collard green, tomato juice!
ReplyDeleteBtw-my boyfriend and I watched Food Matters last night and ALL the things I've been telling him about food seems to have hit him through this film! He asked me where I keep the spirulina. It was wonderful, thank you for the recommendation!
I tried the Chocolate Cherry Bomb Shake, and I am in love! I want a cherry tree in my back yard so that I can make this everyday! I like adding 1 Tbsp. cacoa nibs at the end of the blending cycle, so that I can have something to chew. I have substitued frozen blueberries, which is also great. Oh, and I though hemp protein powder was gross until this shake. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh, my word, all that food sounds so good! Best to you. You look great!
ReplyDeleteI've been fooling around with my new (since Christmas) juicer, and I Love, Love, Love how fresh and tasty and wonderful fresh veggie juice is!
ReplyDeleteI have a question, however. You often mention putting Kale into your green juice, and I thought I'd try it, but my juicer just threw it into the "reject" bin (where unjuiceable parts go)whole. Cukes, limes, celery, tomatoes, carrots, etc, all work fine, but the kale and other leafy things just shoot out without doing anything.
Am I doing something wrong, or did the juicer fairy bring me the wrong juicer?
