Raw food delivery can be so helpful with living the raw food lifestyle. For starters, as a pregnant woman, I sure do appreciate being able to sit back and put my feet up on the couch while I wait for the delivery man. Top that with feeding my body and my growing baby some of the healthiest food in the world. That rocks! I also love that they're including the nutritional information on the packages of food now. That can be very helpful for people who want to calculate calories, protein, fiber, etc.
Secondly, I'm a fan of raw food delivery during busy times in life... for example the holidays. It's such a relief that amidst all the food prep for gatherings, attending parties, cleaning, decorating, shopping, and resting from all the activity, it's a real treat to have a box of organic raw food show up at my door.
Thirdly, raw food delivery is great when traveling. Check out this post (video) I recorded when we traveled to New York and Pure Market Express treated me to a delivery for the first time. (My how my hair has grown since that video in September).
Here are some of the foods they sent to me this second time.
Bacon Jalapeno Poppers
These are really yummy. I had them in the last package and was smiling from ear to ear when they sent them to me again. The combination of spice and creaminess is wonderful. (pictured)
Banana Cream Pie
Pure Market Express knew how much I loved their Banana Cream Pie that they sent me TWO pieces in this delivery. The flavor was the same awesomeness as before, but this time the presentation was different. In NY, the pie arrived in a whole piece. In AZ, the pie arrived kind of all mushed up, like a pudding. It might have been the longer distance it traveled that caused this, but I don't know. It was still tasty though!
Hhmmmm! Excellent. I really enjoyed these and hope to have them again some day. A lovely treat. (pictured)
Baked Mac-n-Cheese
I specifically requested this and was very happy with the result. I wish I had saved some for my husband to try. The one thing I'd change... I'd like a little more sauce with it.
Lasagna
There was some zing to this that affected my mouth a bit (my husband's mouth, too) that I could do without, but otherwise it was good flavor and a pretty presentation. (pictured)
Donut Holes
These were fun. My favorite part was the somewhat crunchy exterior - reminded me of donut holes.
I always wanted to try that place!!

ReplyDeleteOh the Maple Apple Crepes sound great as do the unpictured (darn!) donut holes...I'm just nosey and want to see what everyone's take on vegan donut holes is cuz as you know, I'm kinda a fan :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, glad to hear they have great food AND great cust service!
I really enjoy having food delivered. I like making it so it's the freshest possible, but sometimes it's just NICE to sit back and put my feeties up :)
ReplyDeleteOh goodie, I'm glad to know someone tried out their food and delivery. I featured them on my blog awhile back when they first started but haven't had a chance to try them out. Their food looks amazing. Thanks for sharing your review.
ReplyDeleteHey HiHoRosie,
ReplyDeleteI think it was your blog where I first heard about them. :)
What makes the bacon in the jalepeno poppers, and what is the mac and cheese made from? I'm assuming those are just meant to taste like the "real" thing, but much better for you.
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to go to their website and look for the ingredients. :) They are much better for you and not the real thing. Sorry, I don't have the containers to look at the ingredient list, I had the delivery a few weeks ago and just now got around to posting about it. If they're not on their website, you can try emailing them for the info.
ReplyDeleteI think the "bacon" part might have been dehydrated eggplant with seasoning... the mac n cheese were veg noodles with a nut based sauce I presume... sorry, that's the best I can do. ;) I have pregnant mommy brain!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your concern and promptness earlier. It's really me this time!
ReplyDeleteI have recently tried a few of your recipes.
I made the Morrocon Gazpacho soup (one of your first posts)! I told my husband I finally made soup in the blender. I didn't mention "raw". We both liked it.
I am not one for rice pudding, but me and my son Scott both liked your Chia pudding.
And I made the salad dressing/dip featured in your last newsletter. Thanks for the wonderful recipes.

Do you know if they ship all over the country? I can't seem to find any info about where they ship.
ReplyDeleteThanks!

What a great service to enjoy when you just want to put your feet up and have a break from the kitchen (Oh, how I would LOVE a break from the busy kitchen!)
ReplyDeleteLucky you to get TWO pieces of banana cream pie -- one for you and one for Monkey :)
Sending belly pats to you!
Sheri
Pure Market is based like 3 miles from where I live! :) I can pick up their food at their storefront & their products are also available at my co-op, so I am a very lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteThose jalapeno poppers are HEAVENLY (seriously better than non-vegan poppers), and I tried their strawberry shortcake the other day. INCREDIBLE. I was moaning out loud while eating it. My boyfriend says that is better than "regular" strawberry shortcake, too. They have awesome pizza crackers, as well!
GREAT company! I wish they'd send me some goodies to try. ;-)
Oooh, checking them out now!
ReplyDeleteGreat and thoughtful review! My readers have been clamoring for jalapeno poppers, so I'm eying the Pure Market Express variety :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see good information being shared.
