My Raw Food On The Airplane To NY - My 1st Video!

Yay! My first video on my blog. Big fun! I did this quickly while testing out my camera and learning to edit (uummm.... I have a long way to go - LOL - but at least I can get something up in a jiffy).

So... here we go...
I can't stand airplane food... it's total sh*t. As a result, I'm always prepared. Check out the goodies I brought along for my husband and myself on our plane ride to New York.

Awesome! I'm trying to do video on my blog too. It's harder than it appears to get started being a videographer! Good job taking the leap! Any raw foodie plans in NYC? Pure Food? Caravan of Dreams? Liquiteria? All my faves here in the city...

Thanks for the ideas, Kristen! Flights are always a problem for me, and all flights in and out of here (India) always give you a choice between hot and hotter Indian food, which certainly takes care of "mak[ing] sure you poop when you travel," if you know what I mean! I'll skip the curry, but wouldn't mind eating some of your flax bread without it!

Love that you are doing videos now! I need to get a flip camera and do the same! :)

Airplane food is gross, I never drink their water either! That bread looks good!

If you ever fly internationally, go with Emirates - they do raw food meals.

what are you doing in ny? how long will you be here? there are some interesting things always happening, talks and what not.

I used to call the airlines to request vegetarian meals, but they always ended up trying to serve me cheeseburgers in sealed plastic bags anyway. Even the salads are gross... I always pack a few things in my carry on - fruit, some pre-made raw snacks (bars, crackers, etc).

Also while you can not take through security a bottle with anything in it, you can take through an empty bottle and then fill it up at a water fountain. I just learned that recently.

I had no idea Emirates did raw food meals! I flew with them this week and on the first leg they mixed up the veg and non-veg meals for the first group of people, and then they did not have enough meals to switch so I ended up having to go without. A complaint letter is in the works! Also - I think even if they do offer a raw meal by special order, it might not be too safe to get it if you are embarking from certain countries (e.g., India) if the water is not potable, as the raw food might not be properly washed.

The bread can definitely be made sans curry. :)

Hi Robyn,
The water was from a cooler. Didn't take long to steep. :)

Hi N!na, I'm here for a variety of reasons and the length is undetermined right now. :)

I hate airplane food too. I dont think i have ever met a person who actually does enjoy it.

Yay for you on your first video blog!

Did you make the curry flat bread? Is the recipe in one of your books? I am trying to add more curry to my diet so am anxious to hear.

Hi ChuckieFrog,
It's a brand new recipe of mine that I have not published yet.

Love the food! Totally agree about airplane food...it's pretty nast. Next time though, check out a reusable water bottle!!! That way you can do your tea hot OR cold, eh? eh?

That bread looks delish! Smart thinking with the prunes, traveling does a number on the bowels!!

The bread looks great please let us know when the recipe will be available! I am going on a plane trip this summer and trying to figure out raw foods to bring w/me. Carrots and apples - much tastier than the friendly skies fare - that is, if they even serve food anymore!
