Anywhere that has a beach because I love the feeling of sand in between my toes!
i love vacationing in NYC - I feel like I'm in another world!! Such a fast-paced, invigorating city.
My favorite place to vacation is Scottsdale, Arizona! I lived there for 14 years, and found the summers to be too hot for me. My whole family still lives there and I miss them A LOT - I love to take our whole family (me, my husband and our 4 kids) down there to visit. It sure has changed a lot in the 3 years that we have been gone - they even have a CSA subscription available now and farmer's markets... I found out about it on this blog! Thanks, Kristen! I am now contemplating moving back there!
It is a toss up...Either the Rocky Mountains, or Sonoma county in CA. Both are so peaceful, and you truly feel like you are away from all of the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Thanks! - Jennifer Conner
I really don't get to vacation much =( But around 12 years ago I was able to go to the UK and it was the best by far. I think because it was soooo old. I probally like vacationing to really old places with history to them. They are fascinating and just give you an aweome sence of awe.
THAT is a really tough question, because I live in Oceanside, CA just a few minutes from the beach. I've been all over the world, and every country has it's unique appeal. Jordan has the Dead Sea, Singapore has it's culture/beauty, even the tiny country of Seychelles was a wonderful peaceful island getaway. To pick a place...Jordan with Petra and the Dead Sea. Lots of healing and spirituality.
The central coast of California. That is the one place my husband and I go by ourselves (or with our children) and are not obligated to visit family or friends (which we also enjoy) and just be ourselves as a family enjoying the awesome scenery, food, and water!
The central coast of CA is the only place my husband and children and I go that we don't have to visit family or friends (which we also love)...and it gives us the chance to be carefree and enjoy all the beauty of the ocean, neat seaside towns, and each others company.
For a relaxing vacation, Maui was beautiful. But for an adventure vacation, I loved London.
Next I'm saving up to go to New York for my 21st birthday so I can celebrate at Pure Food and Wine :D
Hi Kristen!
My favorite place to go on vacation would be Paris. I have a favourite hotel there, and it feels like bliss to just lay down on in it's marshmallow bedding before we go out exploring. We meander looking out for places to eat that pique our interest and might suit us just fine to eat at that night :)
~ Emily.
I enjoy Hawaii and Mexico because it's a relatively short trip from CA and it's always beautiful weather.
ROME! The history, the food, and the men:)
Cape Cod... I've been going there forever, and I love it.
My favorite place to visit it Grand Cayman Islands. The water is SO blue it takes my breath away every time I go there. The snorkeling is OUT OF THIS WORLD!
Colorado, without a doubt. I love the raw nature and down to earth feel of the mountains. Heaven.
Great giveaway!
My favorite place to vacation would have to be Seattle, because it is "home". We don't have any family or friends locally, having just moved here, so going back to visit is always wonderful. And the city itself is glorious - it's the greenest city I've ever visited. I love going to the markets and seeing the piles of organic produce, and being able to buy cheap exotic fruit. There aren't many other places where you can smell the ocean and see the mountains! It's phenomenal!

My favorite place to vacation is Provincetown, MA. Why? Because the beaches are beautiful, the people are free and relaxed to do as they please, great food, fun whale watches, awesome nightlife, you name it! It's the perfect place to get away from the everyday.
Anywhere warm,California or Arizona. Our DOG even has skin allergies and the vet said He needs warm sun not rain that we see where I live.:-)
My backyard! I don't need to pack a thing except a book and sunglasses and, there's NO commute to get there!
Whereever my soulmate is...because thats where my soul yearns to be.
i think id have to say catalina island. i havent really been on very many vacations but when i went a few years ago i had fun and theres lots to do there :)
I live in L.A. and I love taking a week or two of vacation to just stay in town, relax, and explore L.A. It's so fun to learn more about your own hometown. :)
Hmmm...my favorite place to vacation is anywhere near the ocean - preferably California. I just find it to be so beautiful and relaxing.
My favorite place to vacation is Phoenix before it get HOT and then travel around the state i.e. Sedona,
Patagonia and check out the raw food
sources. Namaste....
PS. I lived there when Dr. Norman Walker, Jay Kordich and Dr. Airola were there.
My absolute favorite vacation place is Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. I LOVE the whole park. My husband and I took our boys last year and we hiked all day and had a blast. If you haven't been it is definitely somewhere you have to go! Thanks for giving a chance to win some of your awesome books!!!
VERMONT - hands down. You are surrounded by green, green mountans (or snow if it's winter), eco friendly people, beautiful wildflowers and funky, fun shops! Burlington is a blast and there is hardly a chain store in sight! (minus in the mall, of course). I wish I were there right now!
My boyfriend is from there so we are able to head up there once or twice a year and I LOVE it!
My favorite place is Washington DC. I love being right there in the middle of our nation's capital where everything is done. As a political science major, it's my favorite place to go.
Taos New Mexico
Very spiritual for me, beautiful mountains, very very good food, just feels right there
deb
It's hard to pick one because I like to explore all over, but I'll say Florida because I have friends there and the beaches are a nice place to unwind.
My favourite place to go on holiday would be the Great Barrier Reef, off the north-east coast of Australia. Sunshine, turquoise seas and glorious wildlife; what more could you want in a holiday?
Kate
I live in Oklahoma, and we have some amazingly beautiful state parks here. Several of them have great little rustic cabins you can rent. It's so pleasant and restorative to be in a cabin surrounded by pines, lakes and wildlife, with clean fresh air and the only sound you hear is the songbirds. That's one of my favorite ways to spend a vacation.
My fav place is Bonaire. It's near Aruba and Curacao and the last time I was there (way too long ago) it was still relatively unpopulated and not too touristy. Gorgeous ocean, gorgeous beaches. Fun!
Wow! So many places; hard to chose just one.
I think right now it would be Italy. New Zealand and Tahiti would be a close second. And I love being in St. Lucia! Oh, this is as hard as choosing only one food.
Thanks for the fun mental trip though! Always love your blog!

I know this sounds so boring as a place to vacation because it's what most people say... but I say HAWAII. Kukio to be exact.
Let me tell you why!
I first visited Kukio when I was 8 and a half months preggers!! I remember watching my oldest who was a year and a half at the time play in the pools, HATE the sand (she doesn't like to be dirty!!) ha ha ha... run around on the greenest grass with no shoes on, we would wear cute summer dresses and our swimsuits all the time and it was just the BEST!! Dinner everynight overlooking the ocean... in the distance, we would see Whales migrating, jumping up out of the water and playing with their babies. It was truly paradise.
I say Hawaii is the place I want to vacation to again and my favorite because, my husband said, when we go back, we'll be getting re-married or renewing out vowels along the beach with gorgeously lit tiki torches and me wearing a simple white summer dress and him a pair of white board shorts with a hawaiian princess flower in my hair. I look forward to this day!
so there it is!
OH!! and I have to say!! I love that you say YEEHAWW!!! ha ha ha... so country ;))
HUGS!!
If I have to pick just ONE ... I'll say Puerto Vallarta, Mexico because (in light of this contest) the hotel I stayed in served fresh, raw, vegan smoothies every morning. Delicious! ^_^
I haven't been there yet, but I'd really REALLY love to go to Greece. I'm not sure why, it's just been a thing of mine for years. Ever since I was a kid and my family would semi-regularly hit this fantastic Greek restaurant.... I've just had a love of all things Greek. Mythology, food, history, language.... It's amazing how those little pieces of our childhood impact us in so many different ways.
I want to vacation in Hawaii. I've never been there so I can't say it's my favorite place... YET! I just think it would be fantastic to be in the warmer climate and so close to fresh pineapples and more yummy fruit! Of course anywhere that my loved ones are is a happy vacation spot as well.
Hawaii - the Big Island. The beaches, cycling and volcanoes are fantastic.
- Seuss
My fav vacation spot has always been the beach. I love being able to sit in the sun and relax the day away!
The Lodge, in Grenada - It's an all vegan paradise in the Caribbean!!! Can you ask for anything more??? I'm going to my honeymoon there in two weeks and, even though I haven't been, I know it's going to be the best vacation ever!!
My current favorite place to vacation is Walt Disney World. I love Walt Disney World, because everyone in our family, no matter our differences, can find pleasure there.
In the U.P. of Michigan, in a boat, on smooth water, with a fruity beverage in my hand, while feeling the warm sun on my sun screened skin.
I love to see nature, I love to feel connected to the earth, and this does it for me. :)
Christchurch, New Zealand the surrounding countryside are the most beautiful place on Earth! I did my honeymoon there and we were absolutely breathless at the beauty. Anyone who has a chance to visit definitely should, and not just for the raw food!
Greece - I can be spiritually re-charged, spend time in the sunshine soaking up the vitamin D, eat healthy fresh food, and learn a bit about history as well!
At first, I thought, "oh, that's an easy question," but then I realized it's quite the opposite ;)
I absolutely adore traveling and will be doing as much as I can in my lifetime. I have never been outside of the U.S., which is sad but true. I have always dreamed about going to Italy, living in a tiny apartment or in a shak out in the country and loving every mintue of it. I can see myself with a bike and summer dresses and fresh produce from the market and time to stare at everything around me, because in that world I don't have to think quickly or be somewhere or know anyone. I can just be.
Obviously, I hate the idea of Italy with a burning passion ;) It is definitely my dream spot. However, I do love Hawaii and the White Mountains. Sabino Canyon is also majestically beautiful. So, to answer your question Miss Kristen, I can't choose 8-)

New York City because I love the vibe the city gives off and plus there's so many healthy choices to eat at. New York is an explorer's paradise!
I love anywhere with a quiet beach. I just love the feeling of the sun on my skin along with the sound of the ocean.
New York, because I love the vibe the city gives off and plus there are so many healthy dining options. New York City is an explorer's paradise
I love Vermont, it's so green and beautiful. I feel very peaceful there!
Where is your favorite place to vacation AND why? That's easy--almost anywhere in the world where I have not yet been. I am hoping to go to Hawaii this year and see if it is as beautiful as everyone says it is.
I would have to say Southern California which is where my family still resides. I moved away to Chicago 12 years ago. We (my hubby & I) try to visit at least once a year (nearly NOT enough). It is SO true...home is where the heart is. I left my heart in So. Cali. :-) Each visit we learn/see new things as if it was a foreign place (after living there my whole life prior to moving). Life IS an adventure! I will say CA has probably the best resources for eating a holistic rounded diet.
Duck, North Carolina! We bought a home there a few years ago and now I don't want to vacation anywhere else. We visit during the off-season in either May or September when the town is sleepy and the visitors are few and far between.
I love the Outer Banks in North Carolina. So relaxing... So Beachy!
St. Maarten! It's Beautiful.
My favorite place to vacation is South Beach. Early on in our relationship, my girlfriend and I took a road trip with a couple friends. It was 24 hours away and we drove straight through so that we could make the most of the week we had. We had so little money, we stayed in a hostel and mostly ate from the cheap fruit stands on the sides of the roads just outside town. We spent the days lounging on the beach, even though it was March and just barely 70 degrees. We were pretty much the only ones foolhardy enough to brave the still chilly ocean, but we were determined to make the most of our Florida vacation.
We've been together 5 years now and we've been back since via plane and staying in less rustic accommodations, but it always reminds me of when we were falling in love. I have some great memories there.
Darwin in the Northern Territory Australia. It is magical! You can see some incredible Aboriginal art that has been there for thousands of years as well the awesome spectacle of Kakadu National Park. The waterfalls of Lichfield National Park are beautiful - especially for swimming. Warm weather all year round makes it a fabulous place to visit.
Melissa
While it may not be an exciting vacation spot, my favorite place is central Virginia. We moved from Va to Louisiana when my son was just 8 weeks old, and I miss my father, sister, and little nephew so so so much. It's the biggest treat to go back and visit.
Wow - look at all these responses! My favorite place to vacation is Maui, Hawaii, in Paia - I love the health food store there and they have great restaurants and beaches! I lived there for awhile and it was a toss up every evening to decide whether to go swim at a nearby waterfall or see a sunset at a beach - all lovely choices!
My favorite place to go on vacation is in my hometown of Genova, Italy! My whole family still lives there and I miss them being in California studying. When I go there, I am sorrounded by completely organic fruits and vegetables!! I love that there, "conventional" is ORGANIC! It is also a beautiful place to be either in mountains or to go on a walk by the ocean.
Thank you for the opportunity!
Well, it's Earth Day as I write this, so I would want a vacation to be as environmentally-friendly as possible... I think it would be absolutely fantastic to take a bike trip with the whole family (the kids are 9 & 5) - all 4 of us biking... I'm going to say south... maybe down along the Pacific coast, down to California... (although it would take forEVER! LOL) because of the abundance of raw food available year-round. ;) Biking vacations nearer to home - around British Columbia's south coast - also rate high in our books. Biking, camping, hiking in the coastal rainforest, swimming in the ocean, foraging for wild raw foods, spending time on beaches, just resting.... but more than anything, making memories with loved ones - that's what really makes a vacation special.
Here's to a healthy, active lifestyle and vacation! Happy Earth Day! :)
~n~
Basically anywhere in Southern California. I grew up in So Cal and now I live in Las Vegas. I do not like it here so a few times a year I usually get to visit the places I know and love. I haven't been for about 4 months but I get to go to San Diego at the end of July. Boy do I love San Diego.
Tikehau, a small atoll in the South Pacific. My hubby and I have been going almost every year for the past 7 years. It's rather expensive but we call it our therapy. There is not much to do there but play and relax in the beautiful aqua water and warm sun. Ahhhh, heaven on earth!!
Sunshine coast in Australia. My husband moved from there to marry me and it's the most beautiful, warm, postcard-picture-perfect place! They have fresh organic juice bars on the beach! How can you not love plant blood and a tan? I think we will end up living there someday, he misses the surf too much. Yes, lots of cute surfers boys too!
Hi Kristen,
Great question! My favorite place is Cinque Terre in Italy. It translates to "Five Lands". It is a beautiful set of 5 villages, lining the Mediterranean sea, that you can only walk or train between. I love the warm sea water, the sunshine, the treks between each village, fresh fruits and vegetables and how secluded you feel in these villages. I also love the Italian's blatant adoration of the sun and sea. Fantastic!!
Thanks
Casey
Favorite to vacation: "The Broadmoor" Colorado Springs, Colorado-our family time together in the summertime time to escape the heat from Arizona to Colorado where my parent belongs to the golf country club at the Broadmoor.
Why? It's in one of the most beautiful resort spas in the world! The weather is AWESOME and the mountain is GORGEOUS-breathtaking! Also another why? It's all-round activites as hiking, biking, golfing, swimming and many sightseeing, too. You'll love this favorite to vacation!
Hi!!! I am soo excited and hope I win!!! You have such great recipes and I am in need of some new ideas to help my hubby and kids feel "full" in their transition to raw eating... =)
My fav place to go is outside of Payson, in FOrest LAkes. We have a camp spot up there we go to every year. Its in the middle of the woods, way back off the road. Its my favorite place to go becasuse there is a clearing we set camp up in... that is under the treetops... There is nothing better than sitting there, smelling the fresh forest air, feeling the gentle breeze and sunshine, reading a book or just hanging out with the family. You really must try it sometime!! =)
Ok then... Have a great evening and I cant wait to see if I win!! **8crossing fingers and toes now***
I love anywhere with a beach.
Why? Because when I was little I lived in Florida. My mom didn't work and would take me to the beach all the time. I remember vividly watching a sting ray swim 2 feet from the dock. I remember snorkeling and seeing the drop off point at the bottom of the sand and being scared to death, but so curious. The seaweed wrapped around your legs, the smell, the taste. Sand in our homemade sandwiches. Man. I just love the beach.
My favorite place to vacation is a small town called Tobermory Ontario. It's a small Canadian town, surrounded by beautiful Canadian rock, freezing cold Georgian Bay, and vast forests. The water is so cold it takes you breath away, but underwater caves and crystal clear water makes the temperature worthwhile. The sunsets are beautiful, and I have nothing but the most amazing, fond, memories of camping under the stars!
Awesome Giveaway Kristen!
This is such a difficult question, seeing that I LOVE to travel- especially overseas. But if I had to choose one place to vacation I would have to pick Yosemite. I just love the outdoors, and Yosemite has so much incredible Beauty to offer. I could hike there al day! Although I do recommend going during low-travel time, as it can get VERY crowded!
Are we going to learn your favorite vacation location?
-Teresa
Hi Teresa,
I have not been to a more beautiful vacation spot than French Polynesia (Bora Bora, Moorea, etc). From the most gorgeous colors of water to the people who live such a peaceful and joyous life to the bright stars at night... it's simply paradise. (Plus, I was married to my soul mate there. *grin*)
So, while I have many more places I must see in the world, I'm doubtful anything can top that, although some might come very close. My husband has been to 33 countries and he said French Polynesia is definitely his favorite, too.
Thanks for asking :)
Cheers!
Kristen
Favorite? Bermuda! It's warm, tropical, right in the gulf stream, and, best of all, only about 2.5 hours from NYC! the pink sand is nice, too.
Favorite place I haven't been yet? Hawaii :)
San Diego has some nice beaches. San Francisco is just cool.
Hawaii is beautiful and has wonderful beaches.
The mountains are so refreshing.
Just to hard to pick one favorite place.
Oooo this is a hard one! :D
My FAV place SO far that I've been travelling to has been Palma, Spain!!!
It has a GREAT choice of organic, fresh, ripe, local fruit on the market and lovely surroundings and weather!! It wa fantastic!!!!! Moreover, the spanish language is BEAUTIFULL!!!!
Thanks so much for this oppotunity Kirsten!!
AJ
I went to Hilton Head Island, S.C. a couple summers ago and it was absolutely breathtaking. It was like another world. The atmosphere was laid back and happy, the weather was perfect, and the people were so friendly. I eventually want to retire there. I can only describe my experience to be 'magic' =)
Colorado! I feel so at peace with life there. It's so beautiful.
Hi Kirsten!
I don´t really go for vacation. Sounds boring maybe but I lived abroad for a long time and now I love being here, back in Sweden, not far from where I grew up. I do love spending time near water so any kind of sea or ocean is fine by me! And the northern west coast here in Sweden is the most beautiful place ever.
Anna
It's a toss up between Vermont or just staying home. Vermont is a beautiful place and home is always the most relaxing.
right now my favourite place is austin, tx. i love the music scene, and they have a great selection of vegan restaurants...
my favourite vacation ever was to poland.
I would say my favorite place to vacation is the Bahamas. It hold a special place in my heart since it is where I was married!
OHH I soo need these books!
I loved Costa Rica...it was just the most amazing experience from relaxing by the water, hiking the moutains, kayaking, ziplining... I love the active vacations... and because it's so beautiful hubby doesn't even notice all the moving we're doing!
i havent been many places. but of those ive been, my favorite is probably sedona, az. my husband and i went there for our little honeymoon and it was so beautiful! just amazing. i was so devastated to learn a couple of years ago that the cabins where we stayed were being sold and demolished. id love to go back some day.
Probably anywhere with palm trees and lovely beaches. 2nd would be visiting my family in Utah.
Definitely northern California wine country – my husband and I went there in October for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. Rented a convertible and drove with the top down for a week! Not only was it one of the best weeks either one of us has ever had, we ended up bringing home a little honeymoon “souvenir” – I’m due to have our first child in July!!
My favorite place to vacation is on Oahu, Hawaii. My husband and I spent 2 weeks there on our honeymoon 3 years ago and have not had a vacation like it since! It was the most romantic place that I have ever been and it was filled with swimming in the ocean, fresh, clean food and lots of sunny days! Driving along the North Shore with the convertible top down was one of the most amazing experiences of my life! I would love to go back sometime soon to relive the experience.
My favorit place to vacation is in Alsopahok in Hungary. There is a children-friend spa hotel, where my 3 children can play whole day. The name is Bobo land. I can have a break, have a book in my hand, have a swim. And... I can eat raw food there, the restaurant is fantastic, with salads, vegetables, fruits, all the things, that I need.
Gitta from Budapest (Hungary)
Since I'm not much of a beachy girl, I love to vacation at the Lake. Although we live 400 miles from each other, my family and I rent a house every July in Central NY on Lake George (2 hours from where I grew up). We meet up for a week of laughter, and plenty of sun and fun. It's always my best vacation of the year!
I LOVE Colorado. When I am there I am plugged in to pure, devine energy. It is GOD'S COUNTRY after all!
It's only about an hour away from where I live. It's a small cottage by a lake. It is owned by my mom's sister-in-law who never goes there anymore. She and her husband used to go there when her kids were small, and then about 10 years ago,her oldest boy was killed in a car accident and they've never been back.
One day, shortly after recovering from surgery, we called her up and asked if we could go there for the day. She came over, gave us the keys, and said "Make memories there".
I was so touched by her kindness. We cleaned it and made it our second home during the summer for my husband and 3 boys to go to. There is no phone service. No internet, and the only thing we are armed with is bathing suits, fly repellent and marshmellows for the campfire.
We love it, and already have made some memories there. There's nothing like waking up to the soothing sounds of the waves hitting the stones on the coast as Loons pipe in the distance.
Boston, MA. I love the mix of new and old architecture, and the ambiance of the city is lovely. The food and markets there are nice as well :) And most of all, I have family there <3
Trinidad and Tobago: for the beaches, the food and carnival. :-)
Anywhere that is hot and tropical with a beach! Mexico, Costa Rica, Hawaii,...
Enjoyed Europe and various areas of Canada and the US but would have to say my favorite trips have prob been any of the Islands I've been too because of the sun and fresh foods. Also relaxing because not doing as much tours and sightseeing.
eileen
St John in the USVI! I love the seclusion and peaceful nature. Quiet days on the beach with a good book...
I think my favorite place to vacation right now is California. I love the weather, Disneyland, and a lot of the scenery that's there.
Hawaii, hands down. Though most people would expect a greenie like myself to enjoy unadulterated, unpopulated stretches like Kaui, we enjoy the bustle and bump of Oahu since where we live is so quiet and serene - a fun change from the norm but the weather is still the best. And I get to eat tropical fruit! I've located a farmer's market in Waikiki and love to stock up when I'm there...
Definitely NYC! I love the buzz of the city and the variety of raw foods to try! Plus, I love getting tons of exercise just by walking around the city!
hawaii! The foods and the atmosphere is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh man, I really, really, really want to win this one. I'm slowly building up my library of your books.
So, my favorite place to vacation is southern California. Why? Becuase we went there a lot when I was a kid. I've only been there twice in the last twenty-some-odd years(2 and 4 years ago), but when I do go there, I get that nostalgic feeling like I'm a kid again. I love it.
Moab, Utah or Ocracoke, NC on the Outer Banks. It is hard to decide, but I love them both!
My favorite place to vacation currently is Cancun. My girlfriend and I went a few months ago to Aventura Spa Palace, and it was the most amazing place we have ever been, and we can't wait to go back. It was relaxing, the food was amazing, and the service at our resort was impeccable.
I've only been once, but Brazil, more specifically Rio was amazing. The culture, the attitude towards food and health and the love of life was amazing and refreshing!
The beach. Hands down. I don't care which beach or where it is, I just want some sun, ocean breeze and blue water. :)
I love cruising! There's no planning stress whatsoever, all your meals are taken care of (not ideal for the raw foodist, of course), but what I love most is hitting multiple destinations in one trip! Last summer I got to see Mexico, Belize and Honduras in a week - heaven.
Anywhere with a tropical beach involved...sun, sand and warm breezes....just thinking about it makes me smile : ) Coming from the non-stop, hectic pace of NYC, I want a vacation that lets me truly relax and unwind without feeling like I'm constantly on on the go...Not to mention fresh air and SUNSHINE!! Oh, and some delicious tropical fruit wouldn't hurt either ; )
NY City - Vegan restaurants and great gyms.
Like most others, I love the beach! I would like to go somewhere tropical some day!
Santa Rosa to San Jose. Love the California coast!! Plus the raw scene is good with all the fresh produce. Beaches, spas, a little earth and glamour in good combination.
Awesome giveaway!
I love to vacation in the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Being surrounded by ocean is so peaceful and beautiful. Playing on the beach all day and eating seafood every night is therapeutic and refreshing! I hope we can swing another trip this year!!
Karla
Hawaii is my favorite; the sun, the sand, laid back atmosphere, super friendly people, and they actually have a pretty good local organic scene, especially fruit-wise, so all the food is super good and super good for you! I always come back refreshed, relaxed, and a couple pounds heavier :-)
My favorite place to vacation so far has been Seattle. Granted I have friends and family there (which makes it an even BETTER vacation!), it's an amazing place to be able to visit. My last visit there made if officially one of my favorites. I found so much natural beauty within that state. Much of the beauty was available to me in an edible form! I ate 2lbs of blueberries every day that I was there. I also tried salmon berries for the first time. I picked SO MANY BLACKBERRIES! It was amazing! I also picked bunches upon bunches of lavender. Lavender seems to grow in everyone's yards over there. It's my favorite, it's peaceful, and I love that they have eco-friend towels in the bathrooms where I went...a neat cloth that rotates itself, and when the whole thing is dirty, it just needs to be washed. I love it! I can go on and on...
My favorite place to vacation is Disneyland. It makes me feel like a kid again. :) The rides are so much fun and the atmosphere is the best. There is so much to do there too. You can learn to draw Mickey Mouse and other characters, you can talk to Crush from Finding Nemo, you can ride rides like my all time favorite Big Thunder Mountin, watch the Aladdin show, and just sit and ride on the train, drinking hot chocolate and watching people. I find myself skipping around like a giddy little kid. :) And the food there, yum. My favorite treat is the pineapple juice. There isn't much raw food there but there are lots of fruit stands. I've loved going there as a kid and can't wait until I can take my kids there too.
My favorite place to vacation right now is Berkeley, CA where I can play school with my grandchildren and visit my alma mater, Cal.
Hi Kristen,
Arcata, CA and Hawaii are my favorites for the same reason. The minute I get there, my whole body just relaxes. It is the best feeling in the world.
Jennifer
I like to vacation anywhere that has amazing locally grown fruit. I have enjoyed south america, specifically Ecuador for that reason. But I'm hoping to go to Hawaii and New Zealand soon to sample their bounty.
My favourite vacation is Rome.
I'm half italian and all my family live there from my mums side. To be surrounded by such historic and breathtaking culture is a wonderful experience, and also being in the company of those you care about makes it even more special.
I love this place with all my heart.
I love to go to my condo in PCB, FL. The beaches are the whites softest I've seen and there is always something to do.
Thanks for giveaway!
kimspam66(at)yahoo(dot)com
MY favorite place to vacation is anywhere with warm weather and a beach.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Cape Cod! Sand dunes, salty air, warm breezes, whale watching and the water. Love being on or by the water.
I like to go someplace new. I like exploring new places.
Hawaii, I love the smells, beautiful views, wild life, everything.
I love Louisiana. The food, people and the beautiful flowers make it one of my favorite places to visit. I like the towns of Houma, Raceland and Lafayette the best.
Seattle!!! I have loved it since I was a child. I adore the weather, the green, the farmers' markets...the attitude! I love it so much I moved here 3 years ago!
The Ozarks. They are so bautiful and the people are so nice.
Thanks!

London, because it's an awesome city that is so much alive and they have lots of vegan dining options and a Whole Foods, or Italy, because it's warm and beautiful.
I love going to my husband's family beach house in the Mornington Peninsula, Australia. It's old (and smells like old carpet) but it's big, with a beautiful view AND we can take our dog and prepare raw food in the huge country kitchen. It's close to two very different beaches - one a holiday bayside beach and the other a wild beach which is part of the National Park. It's fabbo!!
on a cruise ship or in the country- cruise ship food is done and dancing is there- country I can sit on my but and breathe fresh air
Santorini, Greece, because it is famous for its beautiful sunsets!
MN because that is where my freinds are I left there 6 months ago and try to go back now and than,,,,
ooh so exciting!! my favorite place to vacation is in either nc or florida because tahts where all my relatives live and i loveee the south! :)
We always vacation so we can visit family that live far away. So we go to Corpus Christi, Texas to see the inlaws. It doesn't hurt that they live 15 minutes away from Padre Island!
Definitely Bermuda - where we spent my 30th B-day and where we got married on the beach. Absolutely heaven on earth! - Nancy
Negril, Jamaica. It's beautiful and the Jamaican people are wonderful! I also got married on this island so it holds a special place in my heart.
My favorite place to vacation is definitely Korea. I love going back to visit my relatives and of course, Korean food always tastes better in Korea! :)
I love vacationing in South Beach! The people and the music and the gorgeous beaches are full of life. I dance all night long!
Also, Kristen I'm turning my June cooking class into an UnCooking class featuring all raw recipes! I am scouring your site for ideas :-)
My favorite place to vacation is in southwestern Virginia in the New River Valley. We have family and many, many friends who live there, so there is always a free place to stay, more lunch and dinner invitations than we can count, and the beauty of the surrounding area can't be beat! There are tons of outdoor activities - trails for biking, hiking, horseback riding - floating in innertubes down the river - historic sites. I hope to move there as soon as my daughter graduates from High School... but for now, it is my favorite week in the summer!
Maui. (or anyplace tropical, I assume). Years ago, I went to Maui. It was so beautiful and good for my skin. Instead of hitting the bars as planned, I just enjoyed the environment and jackfruit and woke up with the sun and took runs and walks on the beach. It made me feel pure with a deep peace and happiness. And my eczema cleared up. I belong in the tropics!
The Russian River in California. There is an area where the river meets the bay. It is so beautiful to watch the sunset.
I am a simple kind of guy. There is nothing better than going out to the cabin for the weekend. I dont need to go anywhere else but there

I like to pretend that I'm not home and vacation there.
I love going to Anchorage in the summertime because, first of all, my son lives there and, secondly, because I can get away from the AZ heat.
My favorite place to vacation is Hong Kong because it's truly where east meets west. It's so metropolitan and energizing, while being beautiful scenically. Plus, you can't go wrong with great food and shopping!
Dublin...It has to be my favorite place in the world. It has the appeals of a city, but it also feels like a small town. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. Whenever I've been there, I felt at home...very beautiful and relaxing. I was there in December once and the grass was still the greenest I've ever seen.
It would have to be Hong Kong. It's a food lover's and shopper's paradise. Most addictive egg tarts I have ever eaten. :P
I have to say the beach...any beach. We usually go to the Southern North Carolina beaches, but as long as the sand is soft and there are waves rumbling, I am happy. There is nothing more relaxing than the mixture of sunshine-heat and the sea breeze. Mmmm.
My favorite place to vacation is my parent’s house in Tennessee. I moved around a lot when I was a kid and don’t really have a ‘home town’. We moved to Tennessee when I was in high school, and although I hated it then (I was a teenager!), I grew to like it when I was in college (and not living at home :) ). Now that I live in Florida I love to go back there because it is going home, and when we drive around so many places hold memories of when I lived there. It is like a warm cozy sweater. I get to see people and places that I love. Plus my mom likes to have fun in the kitchen, so I get to experiment with some recipes I get a little intimidated by doing alone.
My favorite place to vacation is at my best friend's home along the coast of North Carolina. It doesn't matter what time of year I go to visit, it's always sunny and warm, the beach is only a two minute walk away (which means surfing AND a tan!), and last but not least, I get to spend time with one of the most important people in my life!
Maui. I can forget about my life at home and finally relax.
I love going to Oahu! I used to live there so it's so nice to go back and see my family and friends and just chill. The beaches, the food, the people... so awesome!
My favorite place to vacation is Hawaii. I don't care what island I am on, but I love the sand and sun. I love the fresh fruits that are always available and I love being forced to relax and not feeling guilty for having lazy days.
Well I have been to some beautiful places in Mexico and I love them because you can really reconnect with nature and yourself. Cancun has some of the most beautiful beaches it's impossible not to relax. I am really excited to hopefully visit Australlia this year. Well I am gatherig slot of info on raw while I save up money to buy essentials, your books would be very helpful. Thanks

Whoa...your husband has been to 33 countries? Thirty-three? Wow! What a lucky traveler he is!
My fave vacation destination would be the west coast, by the ocean. We moved to land-locked Ohio from the west coast and we sure miss the beach and the sand between our tose!
Thanks for the chance to win your book! I have a couple of your books and we love every recipe we've tried (and we've tried a LOT of them!).
I would probably say "somewhere I've never been," as I want to see it ALL eventually. However, I do always end up going back to NYC and Santa Monica, CA. Love the weather and the feel of the ocean in CA...loved walking along the farmer's market, picking out fresh produce. LOVE NYC - the energy, the people, taking taxis/the subway, and most importantly - all the delicious vegan food. (I also really like Chicago.)
my favorite place to vacation is any beach with my family. Why? I enjoy the warmth of the sun and the beauty of the water, it makes everyone feel close together.
The Turks and Caicos Islands... They are so relaxing and incredibly beautiful!
I love to vacation in Portland, OR. I consider it my hometown even though I haven't lived there in 12 years...but it's always comforting to go home.
For me vacationing is different from traveling, so I'm a bit torn about my answer. For travel I would have to say China, and Ireland. For vacationing Singapore, and other tropical Asian countries. :)
This is an awesome giveaway Kristen!
My favorite place to vacation is my in-laws house. They live in the middle of nowhere (practically) on private river front and have tons of animals to play with. It's relaxing, and they are really good about taking care of me and my food allergies.
I don't get to vacation, but a dream place would be Vilcabamba Ecuador. This "Valley of Longevity" is a raw foodists earthly heaven. The purest air, water, and abundant fresh foods are all things things that I would love to experience on a vacation to Vilcabamba!
San Diego!! What's not to LOVE about that sunny, coastal city full of night life? Plus we stay with friends who have loaner bicycles. Biking to the beach or any number of great vegan restaurants & thrift stores. Bliss!!!!
That's easy!! Next to my hubby Stophy!!! :0) paradise in itself!!
My favorite spot for vacation is San Diego, or Orange county CA. I love beaches and warm but pleasant weather and I loved it there. Its a beautiful mix of nature and perfect weather. I found both places to be very relaxing and perfect bonding experience for the whole family.
In my sunny yellow VW bug. I love taking road trips, especially ones without a destination. I meet the most interesting people. Get to eat fresh food from farm road stands. Couchsurf with kindred spirits and take endless photographs.
Grand Marais, Michigan which is in the Upper Peninsula. It's a beautiful little town that sits on the shore of Lake Superior. The area has it all....water to splash in, beaches to lie on, and forests to hike in. What could beat that?
My favorite place to vacation is Mexico. I absolutely love how amazing the terrain is, how beautiful the people are, and how rich the culture is. I especially love Palenque, and all the super charged pyramids.
Greek Isles (I've visited Ithaki a couple times to see family). Beautiful weather, people, waters (dolphins!). When you swim the water is so salty that staying afloat is effortless. Little fishies all around. And sooo many veggies! Olive trees everywhere and no shortage of fig, almond, lemon & orange trees. Loads of history at every turn. Oh and the cats, love the cats.
NEW ZEALAND!! I may be biased as its my home, but I have been traveling the past 5 years and every time I return the beauty just amazes me. The South Island is just chokka with beautiful natural scenery.
Love your blog :)
Peace & Love
Ocean City, Maryland. It's gorgeous and there's so much to do. I absolutely love it.
London - it feels like home (NYC) to the 100th power. Amazing energy, people, culture and beer, yes, let's not forget the beer!
London - it feels like home (NYC) to the 100th power. Amazing energy, people, culture and beer, yes, let's not forget the beer!
My favorite place to vacation is right here at home. I love being close to home and here in Texas there are so many places to camp, hike and historic sites to see. Plus I love my house, it's comfortable and it's my home!
San Francisco! I used to live there and love the vibrancy of the city and the open mindedness of the people. Just over the Golden Gate Bridge there is fantastic hiking and fresh mountain air.
THE RUSSIAN RIVER IN SONOMA COUNTY CALIFORNIA BECAUSE IT IS PEACEFUL AND FRESH. YOU CAN RELAX IN THE WATER (WITHOUT CONCERN OF THINGS NIPPING AT YOU) OR SWIM LIKE CRAZY, OR TRAVEL AROUND THE COUNTRYSIDE AND DO WINE TASTINGS. LAST YEAR WE STAYED IN A HOUSE THERE IN THIS GREAT LITTLE COMMUNITY, WE ARE GOING BACK THIS YEAR AND PROBABLY EVERY YEAR. IT IS MAGICAL AND REAL WITHOUT BEING PRICEY, TACKY, OR TOO TOURISTY.
Kauai because it is so beautiful and warm
Favorite place to vacation I guess is camping with my husband and two boys. It slows me down to reflect quite a bit and I always come away refreshed and thankfull for my family and nature.
I love vacationing in Mexico because the sun and warmth is a great break from the dark and damp Seattle winters
My favourite place to vacation is...I don't know yet, as I haven't been to any pf the places of my dreams. It would be somewhere with tropical fruits, sandy beaches, and blue blue waters. Somewhere I could drink coconut water from the coconut through a straw and pick fruits off the trees, then go hiking on amazingly beautiful trails.
To islands -- the more primitive the better! I like to go and relax in island time. I like to walk around the island and hear the waves crash upon the sandy and rocky shore. I like the wildlife found around islands; the sea life, bird life and flora and fauna of the region. I love the breezes and the exotic smells, even found on arid islands. I like the way they are protected, simple, and small. The people are often more relaxed and happy on islands too.
I love vacationing at the Oregon Coast. IT is so beautiful and calming. The ocean air helps me to recharge my batteries.
My favorite place to vacation is Hawaii. It's so beautiful there.
Texada Island British Columbia.
It is a small island off the sunshine coast with a great selection of beaches to comb, trails to hike and the best ginger brittle I have ever tasted is sold at the farmer's market
My favorite place to vacation is in my own back yard - the Rocky Mountains!
